Hello
I first learned about money from my parents. They are very hard working, loving parents of the "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" type. The mantras we consistently heard in my house included:
-
Hard work pays off
-
Never drive faster than you can afford
-
Spend less than you earn
-
Compounding works
My goal now is to pass on some of these lessons and many others to the clients that I get to work with.
My Story
After graduating from Washington State University, I spent the next 13 years at PwC, a Big 4 Accounting Firm as an external auditor. During that time, I worked in Seattle, London, San Francisco and finally Portland. I then worked in internal audit and strategy at Umpqua Bank for almost 5 years. It was when the pandemic hit in 2020 that I finally took the leap to follow my passion into financial planning and have been loving it ever since.

I started Rain or Shine Planning in 2023 to offer ongoing financial planning services and investment management. For this service, I charge a fixed annual fee rather than a percentage of assets under management (AUM) to reduce the inherent conflicts of interest that arise in an AUM model. Transparency and objectivity are critical elements to providing the best advice for you, and I take this very seriously.
